MIXING & SORTING

OBJECT:-                                                

1.     To achieve uniform quality of product for a longer duration.

2.     To meet functional and end use requirement.

3.     To reduce and control cost of production.

4.     To achieve processing performance.

Sorting: -

                      The meaning of Sorting is “To examine in order to clarify”. Similarly in Spinning, there is sorting section in the start of process. In sorting section, heavy impurities like leaves, Sutli, Bird-wings, Paper, Plastic, Wood, Yellow cotton bunches ,etc are removed from cotton. These impurities are known as contaminations. If these are not removed in the starting process, then it causes a serious damage to the machines.

                        To sort out the material, first the material is converted into loose form by passing through the “MBO” Machine .The bales are brought from different stations and is stored in the godowns. Then these bales are transferred to different sections according to the requirement.

CONTAMINATIONS

                        Before opening of bales, brushing is done so as to remove outer impurities. After that covers are removed, and then material from different bales is taken out in the form of layers and is placed on the feeding belt of opener. The layers of different material are placed in definite proportion according to requirement .Then material is passed through MBO to open the material .In this way the bales are broken into smaller tufts .Then this opened material is sorted out manually.

The contaminations in the raw material are mainly in the forms described below: -

·         Feather

·         Wood

Mixing: -

                        Mixing   means  preparing  a mixture of different varieties (Cotton, Polyester, and Acrylic) of fibers in order to achieve a steady quality of end product. The cotton fibers not only of different varieties but also of same variety from different stations, or of same bale may process different properties. In spite of such setbacks, qualities of yarn & cloth have to be maintained.
