CARDING
Carding is the heart of spinning. “Well carded material is half spun”
Carding is main department of spinning for production of better quality of yarn. Card is known as the heart of spinning because it is the only machines, which individualize the fiber & so can do cleaning to maximum extent.
The cards can be classified into two classes on the bases of their feeding style i.e. “Lap feed cards” & “Chute feed cards”. Lap feed System is used in old types of cards; in the latest cards the chute feed system is used. Chute feed increase the production and decrease the production cost.
OBJECTS:-
- Opening to individual fibers
- Elimination of foreign matter
- Elimination of dust
- Disentanglement of neps
- Fiber blending
- Fiber orientation
- Sliver formation
LC 300A-V3 CARDING SYSTEM
FIG:- LC-300A-V3 |
OPERATION:-
Tufts enter the separating head via the fine feed system. The tufts are opened in
the opening unit & then discarded to the lower unit or chute.
From here the material is transported to the material opening section of the
Card where the licker-in grasp the material. The licker-in transport the tuft for cleaning & partial opening via the carding elements to the cylinder. The partially opened tufts are further opened to individual fibers and cleaned once more in the very small gap Between the counter rotating saw tooth’s on the small hooks of the
flats. The doffer takes the fibers as web or fleece from the cylinder.
The web is feed to the disk rolls from the doffer via the take off device & the web collection unit from here the sliver, which has now finally formed, passes through the coiler & is stored in cans.
