DIFFERENT PARTS OF CARDING

CHUTE FEED SYSTEM

In modern cards we use chute feed system. Fine feed system is used for feeding flocks. We use air pressure. Material is fed by air stream which come in contact of feed roller. Sensor presents in chute senses the input. It gives signal according to the requirement.

CHUTE FEED ROLL

Two feed roll are present in chute for opening cotton. These roll feed cotton over conveyor belt. The belt transfers the cotton over feed plate which is made of cast iron.

FEED ROLL AND LICKER – IN

Feed roll is used for feeding the material to licker in. the licker in further passes it to the cylinder.

CYLINDER

It is the main part of carding. Diameter Of cylinder is 50” and moves at a speed of 450 rpm flats are present over cylinder. The main carding zone is between flats and cylinder.

STATIONARY FLATS

Stationary flats are used in modern cards in place of front and back plate. They perform the cleaning of long Fiber. They are having flexible clothing. They run at a speed of 220 mm/min.

DOFFER

It is the main part of delivery point of card. It is also the main carding zone.

DETACHING ROLL

Detaching roller is used for detaching of carded Fiber. It removes the short Fiber and detaches sliver from doffer. It pulls the Fiber at a very high speed.

CROSS ROLL

Cross roll are used in the form of pairs. They are made up of steel and iron. They are present below the delivery roll. At last the sliver passes between trumpet and Autoleveller.

AUTOLEVELLER

It is used for maintaining proper leveling of sliver. In auto leveler 2 discs are used pressing of sliver. Top discs are operated with springs. Her we use close loop type auto leveler. In this the measurement is at the delivery point and the correction is made at input feed.
