Size Box

Sizing: It is the technique of applying a protective coating on the surface of the warp in order to enable the warp to withstand various stresses and strains that it is subjected to the loom.


Objectives:
To increase the weavability of yarn by:
1) Increasing its resistance to abrasion
2)Reducing the hairiness of yarn
3) Improving the yarn strength

ABOUT SIZE BOX :

•         It  is  used  in  sizing  process.

•         It is the box in which the size paste rests during sizing.

•         It can be made up of cast iron  or stainless steel.

•          Most of sized yarn properties can be controlled here.

•          Impregnation  of the warp yarn with size is done in this  box.
